INDIVIDUALS presented the Winter collection ’10, The Porcelain Papillon, at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. The collection translates sensuality and refinement into classics as well as current design. INDIVIDUALS is maturing. Remarkable details are tight dresses and pencil skirts, prominent use of leather and a renewed emphasis on waist and legs.

Winter ’10 - The Porcelain Papillon

The butterfly is symbolic for transformation. It captures everyones attention and is as fragile as porcelain. Vulnerability and the need for protection are central themes. This is translated by use of sturdy leather and chunky knitwear combined with faux fur, lace and silk. The inspiration comes from luxurious and delicate designs from Paris in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The silhouettes emphasize high waists and slim legs; colours such as ruby red, champagne, ochre yellow, black and mint green infuse the designs with sparkle and warmth.
