The next level: Apphabet.

It's new and it's a hype: Apphabet. It's a font composed out of Apple iPhone App icons. Existing Apps become more alive being part of the Apphabet, cause they make a new language together. Art director and artist Ine Reijnen created a complete font out of App icons. Cause she loves Apps. She wants to bring it to a new level.

But what to do with Apphabet? Create Appoetry! That's haiku avant la lettre and beyond Twitter. It's a poem, a thought, a one-liner with a maximum of 16 characters. Exactly the size of one iPhone screen. The artist wants to collect Appoems from all over the world and make blog and maybe a book. Appoems can also be used as iPhone wallpapers.

All iPhone fans and App icon designers are invited to join the Apphabet with nicer and better glyph icons. So the message is: Make Apps not war!

Apphabet is a nice deal: download the font for free at www.thtot.nl/apphabet and send Ine an Appoem in return. To use it in InDesign CS3 or CS4 you'll need a free plugin from Fontlab, www.fontlab.com/photofont/id. Use Apphabet on a black background. And then start writing Appoems and become an Appoet.
