The seventeenth edition of Woonbeurs Amsterdam marks the start of a new interior design season. From Saturday 26 September through Sunday 4 October, Amsterdam RAI will focus on indoor and outdoor furnishing in any style. At this year’s edition, visitors will be pampered with a lot of personal attention and advice as over three hundred leading lifestyle brands share their expertise with lifestyle enthusiasts. Following sixteen well visited fairs, Woonbeurs Amsterdam expects to welcome its 1,500,000th visitor at this year’s event. This will be a very festive occasion indeed, an event not likely to be forgotten by this ‘lucky’ visitor.    

Woonbeurs Pin Award 2009 and exhibition Lane of Fame
The Woonbeurs Pin will be awarded to Arco furniture during the VIP Night. Meanwhile, this Award has become a highly valued prize in the industry. Woonbeurs Pin is a Dutch Award for a person or an organisation that is important to Dutch interior design. Former award-winners include Art of Living (1994), Piet Hein Eek (1995), Henk Vos (1996), Jan des Bouvrie (1997), Marcel Wanders (1998), Forbo Krommenie (1999), Droog Design (2000), Lidewij Edelkoort (2001), Ulf Moritz ( 2002), Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum (2003), Richard Hutten (2004), Tord Boontje (2005), Piet Boon (2006), Studio Job (2007) en Jurgen Bey (2008). The actual Woonbeurs Pin prize was designed by last year’s winner, Jurgen Bey.
In the Lane of Fame, art works, ideas and sketches of the former seventeen award-winners of the Woonbeurs Pin will be on display. This will give you a fine overview of lifestyle and interior design developments over the past 16 years.

 

Participants and program
State of the art lifestyle and interior design will be available at Woonbeurs Amsterdam in September. Exhibitors include Poliform, Poggenpohl, Paul van de Kooi Keukens op Maat, Boley Openhaarden, Rolf Benz, Conijn Parketvloeren, Nespresso, Graham & Brown, TEMPUR, Hooked on walls, Fatboy, Miele, Koninklijke Mosa, Auping, Riverdale and FM Janssen.

 

Most beautiful 2009 Concept car

Volvo will introduce its S60 Conceptcar on the Dutch market at Woonbeurs Amsterdam. The S60 Conceptcar, which was only recently acclaimed as the most beautiful 2009 Concept, is an exhibit of leading Scandinavian design by Volvo from Sweden. The S60 Concept is a fine example of the merger of technique and design and will be on display in the Netherlands for the very first time.

Leolux 75 years in furniture

Leolux celebrates its 75th anniversary and this calls for a special celebration at Woonbeurs Amsterdam. At this occasion, Leolux challenges young artists to re-decorate 'Leolux Pallone'. Outstanding designs will be manufactured to actual size and auctioned at the show.

Via Milano

Young Dutch designers who were present in Milan in spring share a platform called ‘Via Milano’. Other creative Dutch design talents such as Tafel-design, Kidsonroof en Smool Designstudio will be represented at ‘NL Design’.

Personal expert advice

At the Inspiration Zone fair visitors may obtain a personal expert advice on interior design if they bring a layout of their (new) home and pictures of their home furnishing.

Tickets for Woonbeurs Amsterdam are available at www.woonbeurs.nl. Presale ticket price is € 14,- instead of €17,50 (excluding € 2,- handling costs per order).
