The annual "Dag van de Architectuur", Day of Architecture, is organised by the BNA, Royal Institute of Dutch Architects. It's aim is to stimulate the public interest in architecture and raise understanding of its cultural significance and of the architect’s role in society.
A list of open buildings and activities (in Dutch) can be viewed here. For English speaking persons, one lecture is of particular interest.
In the 800 meters long building annex sound wall called the Wall, that separates the highway A2 from the new housing area Leidsche Rijn, American writer Tom Van der Bilt will talk about his book Traffic. He will answer questions like "Why does the other lane always seem to be moving faster?" and explains that road rage can be good for society. His book will change the way we see ourselves and the world around us. And who knows? It may even make us better drivers.
Location: The Wall (in one of the to be rented spaces), Hertogswetering, 3543 AS Utrecht
