In every high heel or pump shoe designer Jan Jansen (1941) sees a divan or chaise longue. The black bamboo divan High Tea with patern Face to Face is based on his famous bambooshoe that origins from 1973. Leather is a passion of Jansen, as can be seen in Raw Hide: a red, black and naturel set of chairs in distinctive leather colours, art prints and animal prints.

"If ever I'll design something else than shoes, it will be either furniture or cars," Masterdesigner Jan Jansen, whose shoes are for sale and in museums worldwide, makes his dream come true by presenting his furniture collection Meubelcouture (furnitirecouture) next to his 160 shoedesigns Haute Clausuren he made since the 60's. This work Jan Jansen made, together with long-time collaborator Swip Stolk will be on display at Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen, where Jansen was born.

Jan Jansen is known worldwide as the Master of Shoes. Since this exhibition he could also be called Master of Legs: lamp Light my Leg is part of the Hommage to Rubens collection and is available in white or black lacquer, but also copper, bronze and brass. With this design the power of ladies legs is exhibited. Shoes come with legs and they have every reason to be on show.
