What is DutchDFA? The Dutch Design Fashion and Architecture (DutchDFA) programme aims to strengthen and consolidate the international position of the most prominent sectors of the Dutch creative industries – design, fashion and architecture – through a joined-up approach.
Where will the DutchDFA programme manifest itself? The DutchDFA programme will initially focus its core activities in China, India and Germany.
What are DutchDFA’s programme activities? The main activity of the DutchDFA programme will be long-term tailored programmes for the three selected focus countries.
What makes the DutchDFA programme different? The four-year DutchDFA programme is temporary and operates in addition to existing infrastructures and support programmes for the internationalisation of Dutch architecture, fashion and design.
What are the core principles behind the DutchDFA programme? The DutchDFA programme will be driven by collaboration: between and with Dutch ministries, between and with Dutch professional organisations in the three design sectors, between and with individual designers and with a multitude of partners in focus countries and other countries where parallel programme activities will manifest themselves.
What is the programme’s wider context? The DutchDFA programme is launched in a rapidly changing world. More than ever before, entire regions and cities are dependent on developments that occur far beyond their own borders.
Because the DutchDFA programme is demand-led and is structured around a series of themes, while a set of criteria is applied before programme elements are actually developed and implemented, not all ideas will fit under the DutchDFA umbrella.
What activities does DutchDFA undertake from 2009-2012? The four year plan is available for download here:
