Operational Structure
The Operational Structure of DutchDFA comprises a Steering Group, a Programme Office and a Programme Group.

The Steering Group determines the outline of the DutchDFA programme and sets the agenda for each operational year. The Steering Group consists of representatives of the participating professional and umbrella organisations in the three design sectors involved and a representative for the six Dutch creative cities (Amsterdam, Arnhem, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht), joined by observers representing the Dutch Ministries of Education, Culture and Science, of Economic Affairs, and of Foreign Affairs. Independent Chair of the Steering Group is Joop Linthorst.

The Programme Office initiates, stimulates, researches, advises and coordinates the implementation of the DutchDFA programme. The Programme Office doesn’t implement any activities itself, but monitors the development and implementation of programme elements, both conceptually and financially. The Programme Office also takes care of internal and external communications for the DutchDFA programme. Thus, the Programme Office functions as the central hub for the entire DutchDFA programme
Financial administration of the Dutch DFA is undertaken by the Netherlands Architecture Fund, which also hosts the DutchDFA Programme Office.

The actual implementation of the DutchDFA programme, preparation of discussions in the Steering Group and coordination between programme activities is managed by the DutchDFA Programme Group. The group consists of executive members of the Steering Group active in the field and representatives of the EVD (the Agency for International Business and Cooperation).

For each DutchDFA activity a Programme Group member will take the lead for its development and implementation. They may take that responsibility because they for instance already have an extensive network and experience in a certain region. They will be the first port of call for the Programme Office for information and consultation.
